This chocolate cake recipe is to die for. Many years ago my sister came to visit for a few days. So, we went grocery shopping and she bought the ingredients to make this cake. There were five of us at the time and we polished it off in two days. My wife would make it and take it to work for the Holidays, and the kids at work fought over it, and they always asked when she would bring in some more. Also, the good thing about it is there are only a few ingredients, furthermore, very easy to make. So, here we go.
Ingredients:
Ever since I can remember, my mother used Duncan Hines’s cake mix to make chocolate cake. This is my favorite for this recipe, but if you have a favorite cake mix that you prefer go for it!
1 Box Duncan Hines Swiss Chocolate Cake Mix, or any flavor you prefer. (Chocolate works the Best)
Sour Cream, 1cup (8oz)
Sugar, 1 cup (8oz)
1 Container of Cool Whip (8 oz)
Bake the cake according to the directions on the box using 2 nine-inch round pans. Next, let cool on a wire rack.
Chocolate Cake Recipe Frosting:
This is the easiest frosting for this Chocolate Cake Recipe, and it can be used on any of your other favorite cake creations. Similarly, You only need a few ingredients, and it’s so simple.
Firstly, In a large bowl whisk together the Sugar and Sour Cream until thoroughly combined.
Secondly, fold in Cool Whip until it’s completely blended
Thirdly, on one of the 9″ cakes spread the frosting pretty thick. Place the second cake on top and continue to frost. That’s It. You’re DONE!
*For better flavor put it in the fridge until the cake is chilled. Overnight is even better, but Who can wait!!
